ROBERT Koren has been urged to stick by West Brom after earning praise from the club’s coaching staff for his conduct during the second-half of the season.
The Baggies midfielder cast doubt over his future earlier in the season after expressing disappointment over his lack of first-team action, not least in his favoured central midfield role.
Matters came to a head when the Slovenia national captain refused to shake Roberto Di Matteo’s hand when he was subbed during the 2-0 win against Scunthorpe.

Di Matteo branded Koren ‘selfish’ at the time but since then any frostiness between the two has thawed.
Albion are now expected to exercise the 12 month option on Koren, whose initial three year deal ends this summer.
And Baggies No2 Eddie Newton believes that the 29-year-old has surpassed all expectations during the second-half of this season, showing an improvement in his attitude and overall demeanour.
“We could understand Robert’s position going into a World Cup year, being a senior player and with another management group coming in,” said the Albion assistant manager.
