Liverpool star Takumi Minamino is one of the Premier League players that have been attracting interest from several clubs this summer. The Japan international attacker has not had the best of careers at Liverpool and has failed to secure regular football at Anfield since his move from Salzburg some months ago. Following his move to join the Reds, Minamino initially had high hopes that he would become an important player under Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp but that has not been the case so far.
While playing for Southampton under Ralph Hassenhütl, Minamino did his best to prove himself and he was also getting the opportunities that he deserved. He starred in a couple of games for the Saints and also earned himself some praise from Southampton fans and the manager. However, after his loan spell, he has now returned to Anfield where he continues to have high hopes that he will try to become a better player under Klopp.
The forward may have to be sent out on loan again though as it seems that Klopp will most likely be interested in fighting to win silverware next season. And if that should be the case, the manager will be expected to stick to his current crop of starters including Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino. Also, Diogo Jota’s presence in the team means Minamino’s chances of featuring for the Reds is in doubt.
