The West Brom manager Steve Clarke has clearly admitted that he would like to see his team get their revenge on Fulham for the 3-0 defeat suffered earlier in the season.

West Brom were one of the highflying teams when they take on Fulham at the Craven cottage, but they suffered a surprising defeat at the hands of Martin Jol’s men. Since the defeat in September, West Brom have been unable to recover the great run of form in the early weeks of the campaign. They have slipped to the seventh position in recent weeks due to recent poor form, which includes just two wins in the last five matches.

West Brom will be taking on Fulham at home in the first game of 2013. Aside from starting the New Year with a victory, Clarke has also said that it is extremely important that the club maintain the home form. Stoke and Manchester city have been the two teams to get away from the hawthorns with victory in recent years. One of the main dangers for West Brom will be the return of the former Chelsea winger Damien Duff likely to be available for this match. Fulham have done extremely well with the presence of the winger.

“I’ll certainly remind the players how poorly we played that day. They turned us over and are one of the few teams to have done that this season. They beat us comfortably, so to see them struggling now is a little bit surprising. I’m sure they will look back on their performance against us and hope to replicate it so they can start moving up the table. But I will also be reminding my players that since the Fulham game we’ve done ever so well,” said Clarke. West Brom will have a two week break before the next match.
