The former Stoke City and Crystal Palace manager also has an impressive record of not being relegated even once in his managerial career which started 22 years ago. Pulis managed to keep teams like Stoke and Crystal Palace with relative comfort.
However, he says that his record of not being relegated nearly does not ensure that West Brom can stay in the league. The Midlands club are only one place above the relegation zone after managing to take only one point against the recent match against West Ham. Pulis was in the stands to witness this match and he will be happy with what he saw. West Ham have been a revelation this season and they are expected to take three points comfortably in front of their own supporters. Pulis says that there are still a lot of work to be done and he will be assessing the squad in the next few weeks to see if any strengthening is needed in January.
“Irrespective of my record, everyone is fighting to stay in the Premier League.Just because I’ve walked in, it does not mean the club will stay up.There is a lot of work to be done. To do that, we need the support of everybody. The Hawthorns rocks when the support is behind the team so we need to get that going again.You have to find a way to win games with what you have and work on a system that will suit the players,” said Pulis.
