Dwight Gayle keen to impress with West Bromwich Albion

Dwight Gayle has highlighted his ambition to secure promotion with West Bromwich Albion during the ongoing campaign. The 27-year-old recently signed for the the Baggies on a season-long loan as part of an agreement which has witnessed Salomon Rondon join Newcastle United on a similar kind of deal.

Speaking to WBA TV, he said: “Scoring goals is one of the best feelings. I love scoring goals and hopefully I can score as many as I can here. It’s a difficult league to get used to. You need a bit of variety. At Newcastle, we didn’t start strongly but it was about mentality, getting results and building on performances each week. I know the experience and quality we have in the dressing room. I’m looking forward to getting out there, performing, making the fans happy, and getting promoted.”

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Chris Brunt has pledged his future to the Baggies for next season regardless of their league status. In a report covered by The Mirror, he said: “I’ve triggered next year as an option. I will be here next year unless anybody tells me otherwise. Unless somebody comes in with drastic new ideas, everybody has to accept their bit of responsibility for what’s gone on this year and I’m no different. Leicester City’s Great Escape Can Inspire West Bromwich Albion – Alan Pardew

West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew has suggested that the club’s survival hopes are very much alive despite dropping eight points adrift of 17th-placed Southampton. The Baggies have lost their last five Premier League games, but Pardew remains hopeful of beating the drop by an example from Leicester City’s book.

Back in the 2014/15 season, the Foxes were facing the prospect of relegation at the first time of calling, but they managed to survive after winning seven of their last nine Premier League matches. Eventually, they finished six points ahead of the relegation places, and they went on to historically win the top-flight title under Claudio Ranieri in the season which followed.

West Bromwich Albion risk losing Jonny Evans for just £3m

West Bromwich Albion potentially face the risk of losing Jonny Evans for a cut-price fee of just £3m in the summer. The Northern Irishman joined the Baggies from Manchester United for £8m back in 2015, and he has since evolved into the go-to man in the Baggies defence.

Evans has been linked with a number of elite clubs this month including Manchester City and Arsenal, and it is suggested that the Baggies could be tempted to do business before the close of the winter transfer window. A Night to Remember for Gareth Barry

West Brom May have lost to Arsenal last night but for their veteran midfielder, Gareth Barry, it was a night he will never forget. The 2-0 defeat was his 633rd Premier League game, a new appearance record for the 25 years of the Premier League era. An incredible achievement for the 36 year old. A true testament to his durability and ability.

The accolades were pouring in pre-game but in typical Barry style, he just took them all in his stride and got on about the business of playing football. You just knew that in this game of all games, Barry would be involved in the pivotal moment and sure enough midway through the first half he was.

Tony Pulis Wants Four More Addition to the West Brom Squad

West Brom are not satisfied with the signings and may still need four more players in order to do the best for the upcoming Premier League campaign according to manager Tony Pulis.

The club have been quite active in the transfer market by bringing in the likes of Gareth Barry and Jay Rodriguez. Oliver Burke has become the latest signing for the club after coming from RB Leipzig for € 15 million. Even then, manager says that the club needs to strengthen in four other positions while also admitting that the next few days will be extremely tough on everyone concerned with the club.

The transfer deadline day may bring plenty of surprises for West Brom, as the club could lose defender Jonny Evans. Manchester City are showing plenty of interest in the former Manchester United player and have even made a £ 15 million bid, which was rejected. However, it is believed that an offer in the region of £ 20 million will be sufficient to get accepted by West Brom. Continue reading “Tony Pulis Wants Four More Addition to the West Brom Squad”

Pulis wants to strengthen

Tony Pulis has asked his board for funds to strengthen his team ahead of the new campaign.

The West Brom manager wants to improve the club further and ensure that they can compete for a European place next season.

The manager said that he is disappointed with the critics that have come his way last season but he is determined to fulfill his duties for the club.

He believes that there are some good quality players in the team at the moment and that they can target the European places if the club strengthens during the summer.

Pulis said that he has already given the board a list of players that he is interested in and it is now up to the board to decide whether they want to challenge for trophies in the future.

It is believed that Tony Pulis is interested in the former Middlesbrough striker Negredo who was on loan at the club. The player managed ten goals last season, but he could not manage to prevent the club from being relegated.

Tony Pulis said that NEgredo is a player that can help the team score goals and that they lacked in this area last season. However, he may find completion from clubs such as Galatasaray difficult to compete. Continue reading “Pulis wants to strengthen”

Jonny Evans to Stay Put with West Brom

West Bromwich Albion could continue their association with defender Jonny Evans beyond the summer after he cited his ambition to stay put at the Hawthorns.

The Northern Irishman joined the Baggies from Manchester United in the summer of 2015 and has since been one of the most consistent performers under Tony Pulis.

Evans attracted transfer interest from Arsenal during the previous summer transfer window, but West Brom managed to fend off the Gunners interest after placing a hefty £25m price tag on his signature. Baggies boss Pulis recently admitted that the club could be in a fight to keep hold of their leading performer, but the player himself has dismissed the possibility of a big club move.

“It gives you confidence when the manager appreciates you. It shows his belief that you’ve done a good job and hope I can continue doing that for West Brom.” he told Sky Sports.

However, the former Red Devils graduate added that he would still prefer a move abroad in the future, and this is something keeping an eye on ahead of this summer’s transfer window, he said: “I’ve always been interested by football outside of Britain. It’s something I’ve always kept an eye on,” Continue reading “Jonny Evans to Stay Put with West Brom”

Pulis wants to finish higher

Tony Pulis has explained his decision to stick with the senior team at this closing stage of the season.

With the team guaranteed to finish in mid-table, many people believed that the manager would be giving a chance to younger players on the field.

However, Pulis said that he is interested in winning the remaining games so as to finish as high as possible in the Premier League table. With the team finishing in eighth getting around £26 million, it is easy to understand why the manager has been fielding his senior players as he attempts to finish as high as he possibly can.

Tony Pulis said that the younger players should not worry as they will have their chance in the remaining games of the season but that at the moment he wants to make sure that West Brom claims as many points as they can. Continue reading “Pulis wants to finish higher”
