Former Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has said that he does not expect a good reception from the Liverpool fans when he takes his West Brom side to Anfield during the weekend.

This will be first Roy Hodgson will be returning to Anfield after his sacking in January 2011.

Kenny Dalglish was appointed in place of the former Fulham manager, but he has been unable to deliver the magic this time around. So far, their league form has been very much similar to the one Liverpool were experiencing under Roy Hodgson, although Kenny Dalglish can show the Carling Cup victory and the FA Cup final, which they can look forward to on May 5.

Roy Hodgson was in charge of Liverpool for only eight months before poor league form meant that he had to be sacked by the new owner John Henry. However, he returned to football management after a gap of just over a month when West Brom secured his services to replace current Chelsea manager Roberto di Matteo.

Hodgson took over the struggling West Brom side, but has managed to keep them in the Premier league for two seasons now. He said that a lot of pressure upon Liverpool will now be lifted due to the fact that they have made it into the FA Cup final where they will be facing Chelsea. The latest football betting odds make Liverpool firm favourites, but Hodgson hasn’t given up all hope just yet…

“There is no reason to give me a good reception because they didn’t like me when I was there. I can’t see they are going to like me now. There aren’t that many people I worked with that are still there and people like Damien Comolli (director of football) have moved on. But it will be nice to see one or two players I worked with,” Hodgson said ahead of the match on Saturday.
