CLARKE BLAMES FOSTER

The West Brom manager Steve Clarke has said that the former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster was responsible for the goal scored by Liverpool, which ultimately helped the Merseyside club in the league cup match against West Brom. Liverpool earned a hardfought 2-1 win over West Brom, who had beaten them earlier in the season.

The 3-0 defeat of Liverpool on the opening day of the season must have given the West Brom players a lot of confidence ahead of this match. However, they were unable to replicate the same form in this match and they were soundly beaten by their opponents.

CLARKE WANTS DUO TO STAY

New West Brom manager Steve Clarke has said that he wants to retain both Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie at the club, despite transfer rumours linking the Cameroon international with a move to the Middle East.

Peter Odemwingie has been a huge hit at the hawthorns in recent seasons. Even though he may not have had his best of campaign last season, Steve Clarke has said that he is one of the important players at the club. Shane long has also been linked with a move elsewhere, but Clarke has reiterated that he would like to retain the former Reading striker.

HODGSON HAPPY WITH WIN

Former Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has said that he is extremely happy with the win his side achieved at Anfield. Roy Hodgson managed Liverpool for a few months before he was replaced by Kenny Dalglish last season.

The former Fulham manager immediately found work in the form of job at West Brom. Not only has he been able to save West Brom from relegation, but he has also steadied the ship as well.

PARDEW HAILS HODGSON

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has said that West Brom manager Roy Hodgson is one of the best and it will be a privilege to meet him when the two sides meet each other on Sunday.

Newcastle United will be taking on West Brom at the Hawthorns knowing that a victory could put them within a point of fifth placed Chelsea.
