PARDEW HAILS HODGSON

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has said that West Brom manager Roy Hodgson is one of the best and it will be a privilege to meet him when the two sides meet each other on Sunday.

Newcastle United will be taking on West Brom at the Hawthorns knowing that a victory could put them within a point of fifth placed Chelsea.

The 2-1 loss at the hands of Arsenal recently looked to have handed a major blow to Newcastle United’s aspirations for finishing in the top four, but the draw and defeat for Tottenham and Chelsea respectively has kept them in the race.

The 2-1 loss at the hands of Arsenal recently looked to have handed a major blow to Newcastle United’s aspirations for finishing in the top four, but the draw and defeat for Tottenham and Chelsea respectively has kept them in the race.

Newcastle United will be coming up against West Brom side that is one of the inform teams in the league at the moment having won three consecutive matches.

Even more spectacular the fact that they have beaten the likes of Chelsea during this small purple patch. As a result of these three victories, any threat of relegation that may have loomed over the club in the last few weeks has been eliminated entirely.

Whilst Harry Redknapp is currently the favourite for the England managerial position, Roy Hodgson is also one of the candidates. Hence, Pardew has said that it is a great pleasure to be managing alongside someone who is capable of taking England to the Euro 2012. The latest football betting odds make Harry Redknapp the firm favourite to take the role, but Hodgson is a dark horse at 8/1, and might be worth a punt.

“I know Harry Redknapp is probably the media’s favourite to get the job, but Roy would be a great choice. He hs put together a strong side at West Brom and he has very good players. He will make it tough for us. The win was important for us but the clean sheet was perhaps more important. We are in a good state and we got a lift from it,” Alan Pardew side ahead of the match with West Brom during the weekend.
