Rafael Benitez drops update on West Brom pair

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has said that both Dwight Gayle and James Murphy could have futures with the club once they return from their loan spells at West Bromwich Albion. Gayle joined the Baggies in a loan-exchange deal involving Salomon Rondon heading the opposite way last summer while Murphy made his temporary switch to the Hawthorns at turn of the year.

Speaking in a press conference, Benitez highlighted that Murphy’s loan deal was primarily focused on getting him more gametime and he could have a future at Tyneside next term. The Spaniard added that the same may be the case with Gayle, who has flourished for the Baggies with 17 goals in the current campaign.
