West Brom are currently lying in mid table in the English Premier League, relatively safe from the relegation dogfight and manager Roy Hodgson is looking to add some star names to his squad to push for a European spot.

Dan Ashworth, the Technical Director of the club, was seen in the stands during last week’s Portuguese League match that featured FC Porto and has been preparing a dossier on the highly rated winger Rodriguez. According to the reports in Portugal, the 26 year old is available on loan with a view to a permanent move in the summer and that seems to be very intriguing for West Bromwich Albion.

Rodriguez has been capped by Uruguay as many as 42 times and was also part of their Copa America winning squad and the FIFA World Cup 2010 squad too. The former Benfica man was the subject of interest for several top European clubs over the summer after firing FC Porto to UEFA Europa League glory last summer but that interest seems to have died down, leaving West Bromwich Albion to swoop in for the pacy winger. Currently the best Premier League odds online suggest that Rodriguez will be moving to the Midlands.

It has also emerged that both Rodriguez and his agent are eager for the player to move to England and the move might just work well for both parties.
