Head Coach for English outfit, West Bromwich Albion Football Club says he is happy to stay on with the team as he is been linked to take over at fellow English club, Newcastle united.
Current coach of the Newcastle squad, Rafa Benitez is believed to have clause in his contract that gives him the opportunity to resign his post if The Magpies relegate.
Newcastle United are currently 19th on the League table with only 25 points garnered from prosecuting 32 matches this season. With Norwich city in 17th position – safety net, having a six point lead over Newcastle, the management is currently drawing up potential targets to replace Rafa Benitez.
West ham coach Tony Pulis is reported to be on among the top contenders for the post. The Welshman has a contract running till the summer of 2017 but is meeting with Chairman Jeremy Peace with the hope of extending the current deal.
Pulis is believed to have a healthy relationship wit the chairman and supporters of The Baggies having established the team as a mid-table Premier League club.
The family of the 58-year-old coach is still based on the South Coast in Bournemouth. Newcastle is believed to be a little too far for the coach as he doesn’t want to relocate. Pulis is believed to have turned down an offer from Newcastle in the past. Just this past summer, he rejected a move to Aston Villa – another club destined for the championships.
When asked if he was the right man for the jobs by reporters, he said: “No, not at all. I’ve got a year left at this football club, and it’s important that we keep pushing on and keep progressing. Then we’ll sit down and take things from there.”
West Brom currently sit 13th on the league table with 40 points so far this season.
